Edwin W. Stedman Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist and promote professionalism and education within the security field by providing monetary assistance to members of the healthcare security field who are attending formal education programs. This scholarship program will help the recipients advance their careers in the healthcare security industry or other areas of protective services.

This scholarship is named on behalf of Edwin William Stedman CHPA, Life Member and Past National President of the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety. Ed has been an active member of the Boston Chapter of IAHSS since 1974. Edwin Stedman has devoted his career helping to advance the professionalism of the healthcare security and safety field. Ed was the Chief of Police at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Boston from 1972-1973. He served as the Director of Security at University Hospital in Boston from 1973-1988 and the Chief of Security and Safety at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for the Aged in Boston from 1989-2000. Ed continues to be an active part of the success of the Boston Chapter of IAHSS.
