October 9, 2015 - IAHSS Boston Breakfast Meeting
Topic: Partners Security Council, Special Response Team

In early 2013, the Partners Security Council, which is made up of all of the Security Directors from the 10 major hospitals and affiliates that make up Partners Healthcare, created a Special Response Team (SRT). The goal was to have a team of elite staff who could respond to any of the hospitals if there was an internal emergency.

This team is now made up of 36 members, who train together regularly and take part in bi-annual drills. The most recent drill was conducted last month with a focus on each hospital's ability to conduct counter-surveillance. The drill was very successful and will be used to help harden each hospital as a soft target. At the next IAHSS Boston Chapter Meeting, please join us and hear how the teams were formed, the training and responsibilities of the team and how these teams are and will be utilized.
